When it comes to managing such trends as mobile, BYOD, Web apps and Cloud, the concerns of SAP Business One customers are no different from those of IT staff in general. There are many scenarios in which a business or other organization might want to provide access to SAP Business One remotely or from mobile devices – perhaps by integrating it with the organization’s web portal — without having to install anything on the end-user’s mobile device or PC.
AccessNow, Ericom’s HTML5-based RDP solution, helps IT staff and users address such challenges by effectively providing turnkey webification of Windows applications. When used with Ericom AccessNow, SAP Business One instantly becomes a Web app, accessed from any current browser on any device.
How it works: Assuming of course that SAP Business One is already installed on an RDP host such as Microsoft RDS (Terminal Server) or VDI virtual desktop, or somewhere in the cloud, all that’s needed is
- Install the Ericom AccessNow server on the same host
- Configure Ericom AccessNow to access the host on which SAP Business One is installed
- Publish the URL to employees, contractors, partners and any other relevant parties that require access
AccessNow does not require any installation on the end user device, so it’s easy to deploy. That also makes it an ideal BYOD enabler, allowing users to access SAP Business One at home, on the road or in the office, from iPads, Android tablets, Macs, BlackBerry, Amazon Kindle Fire, Chromebooks, etc.
Ericom has been working closely with SAP Business One Product Evangelist Richard Duffy, who is using Ericom AccessNow to provide simple, anywhere access to SAP Business One, including dashboards, customizations and third-party applications, within a browser window.
